Karachi Kings will face Multan Sultans today (Wednesday) in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight.

The match will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium as both teams look to bag another crucial win in the event.

Multan are currently at the top of the points table with six points after four games. Karachi are placed in fourth position with two points after four matches.

After losing their opening match against defending champions Lahore Qalandars, Multan have registered three consecutive victories. The home side would be hoping to continue their good run in the tournament and cement their place at the top of the table.

On the other hand, Karachi secured their maiden win, against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday, in the event after suffering three consecutive losses. After a poor start, the margin of error for Karachi is slim which is why they need to continue winning matches in order to keep their destiny in their own hands.

"Our focus now is to win our upcoming matches and make a comeback. Good teams make comeback in tough times. We will try our best to qualify for playoffs," said Karachi captain Imad Wasim.

However, the Kings would be without their experienced pacer Mohammad Amir for the match against Multan after he suffered a groin injury.

Meanwhile, opener Sharjeel Khan could be on the sidelines once again after Matthew Wade and James Vince impressed as opening pair during the match against Lahore. The duo added 70 runs in seven overs for their side.

For Multan, top-order batter Rilee Rossouw, 189 runs at a strike-rate of 175 in three innings, and pacer Ihsanullah, leading wicket-taker with 12 scalps in four innings, will be the players to watch out for since they have been in great form during the tournament so far.
